Our Strategy

Our Strategy

When millions of low-income Americans, no matter how hard they work, are destined to inherit their parents’ and grandparents’ poverty, building pathways to economic opportunity becomes a moral imperative. Stagnant social mobility not only leeches the American Dream, it wastes human capital and ultimately affects us all.

We know that place and circumstance matter a great deal, and that addressing systemic poverty and economic inequity is complex and challenging. Significantly increasing economic opportunity for individuals and families will require our city to come together, dream big, and act boldly. We are ready to do our part by adding our resources—passion, experience, and capital—to help more individuals and communities thrive. The Pritzker Traubert Foundation actively partners with business and community leaders, nonprofit organizations, foundations, and government agencies to advance innovative solutions that align with our three investment priorities:

  • Investing in the Economic Future of Chicago Communities

Individuals and families succeed when they live in strong and vibrant communities. Yet many Chicago neighborhoods have experienced decades of systemic disinvestment that has resulted in high poverty, high unemployment, and low levels of economic opportunity. The Pritzker Traubert Foundation is committed to helping neighborhoods thrive by promoting their economic and community growth. Specifically, we aim to spark new enterprise and job creation that benefit current residents.
