Jerry Baake serves as the Director of Workforce Development at the University of Vermont Health, where he leads strategic initiatives to build career pathways into high-demand healthcare roles across Vermont and Northern New York. With over 15 years of experience in human resources—including leadership, talent acquisition, and labor relations—Jerry brings a practical, inclusive approach shaped by his own journey from carpenter apprentice to journey worker and first-generation college graduate. Prior to joining the University of Vermont Health in 2022, he led workforce development efforts at Advocate Health. He holds degrees from UW-Platteville and UW-Stout, and lives in Wisconsin with his family and their adventurous Rottie-Poo, Jack.
