Kim Cassel is Principal at CasselView Advising, LLC where she advises philanthropic and nonprofit organizations in the development and use of rigorous evidence about what works to improve the effectiveness of social policy, and collaborates with policymakers to advance the use of such evidence in policy decisions. She was a founding member of the Evidence-Based Policy initiative at the philanthropic organization Arnold Ventures, where she was responsible for developing strategic investments to build the body of social programs found to produce meaningful improvements in people’s lives, including overseeing a portfolio of randomized controlled trials evaluating programs across all areas of U.S. social policy. Kim previously worked for the Coalition for Evidence-Based Policy and for the Families and Communities Research Group (first at the Institute for Juvenile Research at the University of Illinois at Chicago and then at Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago). She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation and on the Grants Evaluation Team for the American Idea Foundation.
