Senior Program Officer, Polk Bros Foundation

Channing Lenert is a Senior Program Officer at Polk Bros. Foundation, where he has served since 2019. He co-leads the Foundation’s grantmaking strategies in Building Community Wealth Across Generations and Fostering a Participatory, Multiracial Democracy. Before joining the Foundation, Channing held development and program roles at City Year, Working in the Schools, and Navy Pier. He currently chairs the Chicago Board of LIFT, Inc. Channing earned an MS in Nonprofit Management from the Spertus Institute and a BA in Political Science from California State University Channel Islands, which recognized him with its 2020 Distinguished Alumnus Award. He is also a 2019 IMPACT Fellow of the Chicago Urban League and a member of the 41st Leadership Greater Chicago Signature Fellowship class.
